Kazuchika Kise

Hi Class,
Another artist that I really love is Kazuchika Kise! He has done Ghost in the Shell Arise, Evangelion 1.0, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Blue Seed, and much more!

An example of his artwork. Absolutely lovely! It's good to see stuff hand drawn in this mostly CG world. It's a dying art, really...

Banksy

Hi Class,
If anyone was from the DMAD193 class than you probably remember my post on Banksy. Well, he is so influential that I decided to dedicate another post to him.

I love how off the wall his designs are. They range anywhere from a guy throwing flowers instead of a grenade, a guy sitting there while there is a stamp above him saying "dreams cancelled". Really provocative stuff. Makes you think about how society is going...but I'm going to deep into this aren't I?

Anime Expo

Hi Class,
A convention that I love going to over the summer is Anime Expo it is 4 days of fun and excitement! Lots to do there, panels, cosplay, shopping, gaming, and more! It is so much fun!

Here is what the front page of the website looks like. If anyone is interested you call still register for the con! It's coming up in July! So hurry!

DMAD 200

Hi Class,
Obviously, we know this but for anyone else who wants to know how to work Dreamweaver wonderfully by the end then highly recommended is Lisa Bloomfield as a teacher. She is wonderful and very thorough with her lectures and demos. If you don't understand something she is more than happy to help you until you do. Absolutely phenomenal class.

Here is an example of what to expect if you take the class, the syllabus is constantly updated as per the yellow words and that tells you if anything has changed or what to expect for next class.

Akihiko Yoshida

Hi Class,
One of my favorite artist that still does stuff today is Akihiko Yoshida who has done Tactics Ogre, Bravely Default, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Vagrant Story. Such beautiful artwork.

I love how cute this outfit is. I want it! ^____^

DMAD 200 Portfolio

Hi Class,
Here is my portfolio of everything that I worked on for the class of DMAD 200 Spring. Enjoy!

I actually really like the way it turned out, big fan of purple and green together! ^_^

Dir en Grey Musican Site

Hi Class,
I know everyone won't check this anymore seeing as our last class was Wednesday May 21st. Anyways, here is a sample image of my musician website.

This was of a band called Dir en Grey. They are a really neat Japanese Metal/Visual Kei band that I came across many years ago, still immensely enjoy their music. Check them out, really cool stuff!

Musicians

Hi Class,
Here are some of my favorite musicians!

What I've noticed that all three of these site have in common are shops, history, ticket information, news, pictures of the band members and or album covers. They also have a dark theme to them, Dir en Grey being the lightest of the bunch. Very interesting layouts as far as their updates on where the band has been on tour or any new merchandise that has recently showed up in the shop.

Classmates Blogs

Hi Class,
Time to pick three blogs, and make comments on them.

First up, is Grant Barrett! I really like the way he designed his blog. Very clean and minimalistic. Easy to read and overall good layout.
Second is Jason Pau, again super clean and easy to read. The lack of color is rather uninspiring but not detrimental to the overall design of the blog.
Lastly, is Bo Kim. I like her very fresh and clean look that she has on her blog. Very easy to navigate and overall great design choices.

Koa Water

Hi Class,
I really like this long page. Very pretty colors. Yay! colors!
Sounds pretty yummy. It's just so pricey for a case...otherwise I might consider some for myself!

Deviant Art

Hi Class,
Sorry, I have been so lax on the posts! I have been pretty sick as of late. Anyways, where I tend to keep most of my images is on Deviant Art.
Overall, I love the creativity of this place. So much talent and interesting projects get posted here all the time. Worth a look if you are curious!

Google Sphere

Hi Class,
I found this while roaming the web. It looked really interesting. Not sure if it meets the criteria for the "high end html5" thing, but...I figured I'd throw it out there!

ladies and gentlemen....Google Sphere!

Okay, well that's my post for this last Wednesday! see you all in class!

h.NAOTO

Hi Class!
My favorite Japanese clothing designer of all times has to be h.NAOTO! I really like his eclectic style of gothic/steampunk/fantasy mix in all of his clothing. Very creative and unique clothing I have not seen much from many American designers! Overall, his site is very bold and simplistic. Easy to navigate and to look at all new and older collections that he has on display on the site. To be blunt, I drool at the clothing daily wishing I could afford it!

Here is the official site: h.NAOTO

You might need to use a Japanese to English translator to read what certain parts of the site say in Japanese, but other then that it is perfectly readable.

Website Dissection

Hi Class!
I really like the lynda.com website as it helps me out with either refresher course for something I have already learned or gives me insight to a new skill that I have not yet learned. The navigation is very smooth and steady, not jerky at all. It's also clean and organized so nothing is confusing on how to get around the site. The design is simple and it's very effective in getting the point across as to what the site is about. Especially the video in the middle where there is a guy teaching a lady how to do something on the computer. I feel very welcomed and like I am getting some extra tutoring where it is needed to make sure I succeed at whatever project or subject I am studying or doing. Overall, it is a great site and I recommend that everyone in the class checks it out at least once.
